10th workshop
26.02.2025, Place: Wrocław
This workshop aimed to show how youth can be integrated through movement and music, even with minimal equipment. Our target group was people involved in missions in Africa who support young people.
During the workshop, participants had the opportunity to experience different movement activities. We started with an exercise in which everyone introduced themselves by adding a distinctive movement to their name, which facilitated memorization and group bonding. The participants then took part in a game with music, which aimed to develop concentration by imitating the movement leader and finding him or her in the group.
The next element was a dancing sticks workshop, during which participants had to make a connection and cooperate in pairs. The next one was an obstacle course, which required cooperation in pairs. Participants had to maintain their balance and coordination by carrying the sticks with only their fingertips. In another exercise, they had the opportunity to notice who takes the initiative in a pair and who submits to being led, which allowed them to reflect on the dynamics of relationships.

After the workshop, participants shared their observations. They appreciated the simplicity of the exercises and their effectiveness in building community and developing mindfulness. Together, we concluded that movement is a key element of youth work and that complicated tools are not needed. The workshop showed how small activities can have a big impact on integration and collaboration.
