1st Workshop
Releasing Emotions through Clay Throwing
When: 14.06.2024
Where: Wrocław
Introduction
As part of our project where we use Arts as a Theraphy tools, we conducted a workshop aimed at helping young people release emotional tension and gain a better understanding of themselves and how they are perceived by others. The workshop consisted of two main activities: a physical activity involving clay throwing and an artistic task of painting paper masks.
Workshop Activities
Part 1: Releasing Emotions through Clay Throwing
The workshop began with an activity that allowed participants to physically release their emotions. The youth had the opportunity to throw clay at specially prepared surfaces.
This part of the workshop was dynamic and full of energy. Participants could express their emotions in a physical manner, which contributed to reducing tension and stress.
Part 2: Painting Paper Masks
After the emotional release phase, the youth transitioned to a calmer, creative activity. Each participant received a paper mask to paint.
The task was to depict two perspectives on the masks: how they see themselves and how they think others see them.
This part of the workshop was calming and conducive to reflection. Participants focused on the artistic expression of their emotions and self-awareness.
Reflections and Feedback
After completing both parts of the workshop, participants had time to reflect and share their thoughts on the activities.
Feedback from the youth was very positive. They appreciated the opportunity to physically release their emotions through clay throwing and then engage in a calm, reflective activity of painting masks.
Many participants highlighted that this format allowed them to better understand their emotions and their self-image, as well as how they are perceived by others.

Conclusions
The workshop demonstrated that combining physical activity with creative artistic work can be an effective tool in working with youth on emotional issues. Releasing tension through physical action followed by calm, artistic work promotes reflection and relaxation. Continuing such activities can benefit the emotional development and self-awareness of young people.
Recommendations
Organize regular workshops that combine physical activity with creative artistic work.
Explore various forms of artistic expression to provide youth with diverse ways to express their emotions.
Provide a safe space for open sharing of reflections and emotions after the activities.

Summary
The emotional workshop, involving clay throwing and painting paper masks, can be effective and well-received. The combination of dynamic activity and calming artistic work can create a space for deeper understanding of oneself and one's emotions. These workshops can be a valuable component of educational and therapeutic programs for young people.
