2nd Workshop

3rd of July 2024 – City of Limassol

The second local activity was implemented by youth worker Stathia Michael in an art studio in Limassol. Focusing on the arts part of the training course, Stathia started by using the secret friend style self-portrait activity as an icebreaker. As such each person wrote their name on a sheet of paper, then in rotation, the group passed their paper and filled in 1 characteristic on each face.

The local implementation continued by introducing the "one non-stop line exercise". For this, the youth workers were asked to use a pencil on a sheet of paper, and draw, without removing the pencil or stopping any type of movement. This focuses on the aspects of letting your feelings on, naturally, on a piece paper, whether this feeling is happiness, sadness or anger. Letting almost literal feelings flow on a piece of paper is an important aspect of a therapy tool.

The last activity introduce to the youth workers was the blind self-portrait. The youth workers had 45 minutes, to draw what they perceived to be themselves, but blind. For this charcoal was used, and discussions and reflections were made about its interpretation.
