4th Workshop
Report on the Art Therapy Workshop at Wydział Zarządzania, Białystok.
On 14.11, I had the pleasure of leading an art therapy workshop for students from my faculty as part of the activities organized by the OPEN SOUL Association. The aim of the session was to introduce participants to the concept of art therapy and create a space for creative emotional expression.
Workshop Overview:
Theoretical Introduction
I began the workshop by introducing the participants to the basics of art therapy. I explained what it is, its purpose, and how it can help in managing emotions and stress. Additionally, I discussed why art is such an effective tool for enhancing mental well-being.Practical Session
In the second part of the workshop, I encouraged participants to express their emotions through painting. I provided a variety of art materials so that everyone could choose a medium that suited them best. The participants created unique pieces, and the process allowed them to pause, reflect, and connect with their feelings.Discussion and Reflection
After the painting session, we had a discussion where participants shared their experiences and thoughts about the workshop. They spoke about how art helped them view their emotions from a new perspective. This part of the session was particularly valuable as it fostered trust and openness within the group.
The workshop was very well received, with participants appreciating the opportunity to engage in creative work and learn a new way of processing emotions. It was a rewarding experience for everyone involved and highlighted the importance of having a safe space to express oneself and build connections.
