5th workshop
Date: November 17
Locatioc: Poland
Project: CREATYIOK
On November 17, an artistic workshop titled "ART. THERAPY" was conducted as part of the CREATYIOK project in Cyprus. The workshop was attended by 10 participants and began with a brief energizer activity designed to foster connection among the group members.
Participants started by tracing and drawing outlines of their own faces on individual sheets of paper. These sheets were then exchanged among the group members as music played. When the music stopped, participants added facial details to the drawings, inspired by the person whose name was written on the sheet they received.
The main activity of the day was the "Mask Activity", which focused on self-expression and self-reflection. Participants were provided with blank masks and tasked with visually representing two perspectives:
How they perceive themselves.
How they believe others or the external world perceives them.
This activity leveraged the metaphor of masks to explore various aspects of identity. Masks served as a powerful symbol, captivating the participants and evoking deep emotional responses. Through this process, participants were able to express thoughts and feelings they had previously struggled to articulate.
The workshop encouraged profound reflection, helping participants delve into their emotions and inner selves. It emphasized the concept that everyone wears "masks"—visible or invisible—that represent different facets of their personalities. The goal of the session was to deepen self-understanding and promote greater acceptance of oneself.
This creative and introspective experience highlighted the importance of embracing all aspects of who we are, fostering self-awareness, and celebrating individuality.
