Photo Activity as therapy tool for youth work

The sixth local activity was implemented by youth worker Boghos Avetikian. This 6th local activity was based on the second training course which took place in Latvia, which was training on trainers for Photography and Music as Therapy in Youth Work. This activity took place in Hylatio Tourist Village, in the village of Pissouri on the 15th of October.

Present at this activity was also Erma, the trainer on the first project in Cyprus to assist Boghos during the workshop.

Participants, after understanding the concept of phototherapy, were given free time to take photos in the nature around them.

The photos had the subjects of understanding the self, and the moods they felt at the present moment.

Participants were given time to take a lot of photos, and to select from them. After choosing their photos, participants paired up to discuss their selections and explain their reasons for choosing them. Later, in larger groups, they were asked to describe the emotions and expressive qualities of the photos. This means focusing on elements like color choices, angles, and, most importantly, the photo's subject
