7th Workshop

SCULPTURE AND CLAY

The participants were divided in pairs and instructed about the activity. At first they needed time to build connection with each other and understanding of the activity. Participants had to find "a key" to their partner while freely modeling them as a clay, unriddle each other's impulses and reactions. After that different topics were added so the participants explored not only the interaction, but also physical storytelling. This helped better understand how our body conveys emotion and story, better feel their body.

Each round was followed by a "museum" activity where the sculptors presented their work in turns, as well as the visitors (the rest sculptors) guessed what was depicted.

Then a reflection was held. There were both people, who better enjoyed being the clay, and those who preferred to be the sculptor. Some participants spotted difficulties with imagination when moving the partner without a topic, but after a topic was given, everybody felt a bit more confident. There is a chance that in some groups the participants may feel not free enough to touch each other, even though it wasn't mentioned in this reflection.
