Training in Cyprus
Given the complexity of the problems that young people are currently facing, we need to take a holistic approach and offer activities and tools that span a whole "range" of different segments of their possible expressions to find each problem the most appropriate "exit" or sense of relief. The same is detected by all project partners, but also by our partners across Europe s which we are in contact with and moving current E + projects from month to month due to COVID-19. We have revised with our partners everything we have used so far from methods and tools. We all agree that even after COVID-19, there will be no return to the old, so a strategic decision was made that it is necessary to further explore all areas of work with young people, to make it more effective, purposeful, and inclusive for all those who experience difficulties of various kinds and intensity, which is mentioned by all our partners in this project. We are ready to try directions that are used less often or never! Our activity is a unique one because it provides an opportunity for youth workers, to explore the power that creative -expressive arts can offer.
Creative arts can have a significant impact on the health and wellbeing of individuals. They can be used to express and communicate ideas, thoughts, and feelings openly and without judgment. Creative techniques will help them to foster empathy, understanding and forgiveness.
To implement our activity, we are going to use drama exercises, improvisations, role play, storytelling, drawing, collage, and body-dance movement. During the activities, participants will have time to express themselves and the opportunity to experience and explore different materials. Expressive arts can create deep and meaningful connections among participants and make their life journeys feel sacred.
Our aim is our youth workers to feel the transformative power that arts can have on young people and to use it in youth centers of their community after the project.
